DESCRIPTION:
Clocks- 4 (Four): (1) Terry & Andrews, Bristol, Conn., Double Steeple shelf clock with an spring driven, 8 day, time and strike movement in a rosewood veneered case, c1850; (2) Sperry (Henry) and Shaw (George L.), 10 Cortlandt St., New York, steeple shelf clock with a spring driven, 8 day time, strike and alarm movemement in a rosewood veneered case.c1848. (3) New Haven Clock Co., New Haven, Conn. steeple shelf clock with a spring driven 30 hour timepiece movement in a rosewood veneered case, c1870. (4) Jerome & Co., New Haven, Conn., steeple shelf clock with a spring driven 30 hour time and alarm movement in a rosewood veneered case, c1870.
CONDITION:
(1) The case has substantial veneer loss. The painted dial has darkened and the hands are not original. The lower finials are missing and the lower final blocks and support blocks need to be reglued to the case. The label is is good condition. The upper door glasses are both original; (2) The case shows veneer loss. The original painted dial shows minor loss. The hands are original. The door glasses are original. The label is excellent. (3) The case has substantial veneer loss. The painted dial is original. The hour hand is a later replacement. (4) The case has substantial veneer loss. The original painted dial has darkened with age. The hands are original. The door glasses are original with some loss to the bottom tablet. ***NOTE*** The dimensions are for clock number 1.
